Our Church doesn’t have a Good Friday service sothis past week I preached about the Crucifixion. A big part of the message was just reading the events of that day.

Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

How great of love does our Heavenly Father has for us! It was my sin, my iniquities that put Jesus on the Cross. The Son who was perfect in all ways. The Son who is crowned with all Glory. This Holy One became sin for us (2 Cor 5:21). My sin and guilt was poured upon Him and He took all the judgement for my sin.

I remember a Pastor from my youth saying something that has stuck with me all these years, “Salvation is free but it wasn’t cheap.”
I can’t think of anything as humbling as this.
